This is an innovative project designed with the aim of embarking on a path of revaluation of a portion of the magnificent and gentle Maremma territory, located 20 minutes away from the sea and about 273 meters above sea level, surrounded by greenery. A space that is coming back to life thanks to the tourist redevelopment project in the intentions of its new owners, Silverfield Srl, a visionary company with solid and successful experiences in the tourist accommodation sector behind it, a high-level receptivity in communion with the landscape and integrated with the economic, social and cultural context of the surrounding area.<\/p>\n

The project aims to create a decidedly unconventional structure that we want to call glamping, as it intends to combine a high level of comfort with the possibility of staying in a location totally immersed in nature while maintaining the respect due to it. An innovative tourism concept capable of blending wellness, quiet, sports, culture and food and wine, all characteristics of the Maremma Grossetana that have long proven to be extremely popular throughout Italy and abroad.<\/p>\n

The facility will have diversified accommodations in relation to the multiple needs of the clientele: bungalows, pitches, tents already furnished, and state-of-the-art mobile homes already distributed at other sites by the company Silverfied Srl. An environmental workshop is planned for training. There will be a bar\/restaurant open to the public, restrooms, reception, children’s games, and socializing spaces through the renovation of existing facilities, now disused, and the setting up of new ones, all in communion with nature and the surrounding rural environment.<\/p>\n

La finoria campsite, formerly publicly owned, is nestled in the beautiful Finoria Park, Gavorrano’s pride and joy, rich in native plants, majestic chestnut and holm oaks, flora and fauna especially small, the sky is frequented by birds of prey such as the short-toed eagle and buzzard. From the La Finoria campsite there is a breathtaking view of the sea and the surrounding hills with paths, rows of cypress trees, vineyards and olive groves.<\/p>\n

Future camp sports activities<\/span><\/h2>\n

In this scenic setting, the new ownership intends to strongly promote sports activities within the facility and in collaboration with other nearby accommodations. Special attention goes to mountain biking and cycling within the facility itself and Finoria Park. The implementation of trails dedicated to sports activities, contact with other sports and recreational entities already present in the area such as in the forest complexes of Bandite di Scarlino and the Union of Municipalities of the Metalliferous Hills.<\/p>\n

Many sports and recreational activities, favored by a particularly mild climate, are already possible in the area and on the nearby coast and should be improved and encouraged: such as horseback riding, tennis, skating, birdwatching, trekking, running, orienteering, hiking and biking, and various options for visiting the area starting with the beautiful Gavorrano, which stands on the slopes of a granite hillock, and the subsequent discovery of the medieval towns and villages nearby, their history, architecture, art, and local traditions.<\/p>\n

The multi-year economic investment is expected to be about 6 million euros. Jobs created are expected to be a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 50. Geological work will be required for land safety and adaptation of fire safety protocols. It was also necessary to come to an agreement with the integrated water service provider with the mediation of the Gavorrano municipal administration.<\/p>\n

Enhancing the Gavorrano area and its natural, historical, economic and cultural resources is possible, desirable, necessary, even outside the classic tourist season by generating long-term value: Silverfield Srl is convinced of this and this is its goal.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Gavorrano: where it is located, the castle and the village<\/h2>\n

Gavorrano is a medieval town located on the upper Maremma on the northern slope of Monte d’Alma, at an altitude of 273 meters above sea level surrounded by chestnut forests, Mediterranean scrub, rows of poplars and vineyards. From the hamlet there is a beautiful view of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the surrounding hills and countryside.<\/p>\n

Gavorrano, after centuries of depopulation, was an important mining center from 1898 to the early 1980s. The largest pyrite mine in Europe was located here, and it is still possible to see tunnels, large quarries, and mining villages that have been converted for tourism\/cultural purposes since the mines are no longer active. This complex is now called the Gavorrano Nature Mining Park.<\/p>\n

The name of Gavorrano is first mentioned in an official document of 1164, in which the castle was ceded by Frederick I to the Counts Alberti of Mangona.<\/p>\n

It is said that in Gavorrano, administered by the Pannocchieschi counts in the 13th century, Count Nello had the Sienese Pia de’ Tolomei, whose sad end is narrated by Dante in Canto V of Purgatory, killed.<\/p>\n

Stone Castle<\/h3>\n

Castel di Pietra, located on top of a cliff overlooking the hills and the entire plain of Grosseto, is the place where the events that led to the aforementioned tragic event took place. This event is commemorated every August in Gavorrano with the re-enactment of the “Leap of the Countess” as the unfortunate Sienese countess was thrown from a castle window.<\/p>\n

The Medieval Village<\/h3>\n

The village of Gavorrano preserves the typical architectural structures of the Middle Ages: the castle, the arches, the gates, the walls, and the large palaces with their towers. In the oldest part of Gavorrano
stands the church of St. Julian rebuilt in the late 18th century to replace the previous one dedicated to St. Gusm\u00e8.
Inside the church is a 14th-century marble statuette of Madonna and Child attributed to Giovanni d’Agostino, a Sienese sculptor and master builder of Siena Cathedral in 1336.<\/p>\n

Also in the center of Gavorrano is the Davide Manni Documentation Center, which displays Etruscan artifacts from archaeological research in the Etruscan settlement of Santa Teresa.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
